Carnatic violinist Sumanth Manjunath, from Karnataka, and Berlin-based saxophonist Julius Gabriel, known for his experimental and improvisational approach, create a distinctive musical dialogue that interweaves Indian classical ragas, jazz, and drone music. The two first met at a music conference in Mysuru in 2022 and began performing together during a tour of Portugal the following year. Their collaboration grew from a shared curiosity about how their distinct musical languages might intersect in real time.
