DEAFKIDS

Formed in 2010 in Volta Redonda, Rio de Janeiro, DEAFKIDS began as Douglas’ solo project, a fuzz-soaked collision of crust, d-beat and raw experimentation. Soon joined by Mariano on drums and Marcelo on bass, the project became a band, quickly building a reputation with relentless live shows across Brazil, two European tours, and a series of releases that pushed hardcore into new, mind-bending territory. Their music channels the hypnotic pulse of D-beat while bending it into extreme shapes: from the noisy assault of Six Heretic Anthems for the Deaf (2012) to the cavernous apocalyptic hardcore of The Upper Hand (2014).

Relocating to São Paulo, the band embraced a broader palette—psychedelic rhythms, global grooves, noise and drone—creating an overwhelming, visceral sound. This evolution reached international recognition with Configuração do Lamento (2017, Neurot Recordings), a record hailed for its raw power, psychedelic absurdity, and cathartic intensity. DEAFKIDS stand today as one of Brazil’s most daring sonic forces, fusing chaos and groove into unclassifiable, uncompromising music.
