Société Étrange—Antoine Bellini, Romain Hervault and Jonathan Grandcollot—revive the spirit of krautrock and the psychedelic dialogue between machines and organic instruments, but without nostalgia. Their music is a timeless trance, a sound journey rooted in the present. Chance, the trio’s second album, offers six wordless love songs built from ambiguous rhythms, deep bass and tender, melancholic melodies. Recorded in July 2020 in Vaulx-en-Velin, the album emerged from collective drift and shared material. Its hypnotic, dub-soaked compositions, metallic harmonics and polymetric structures conjure a dark yet liberating atmosphere, music that makes space for dance and reflection alike, free of anesthesia.
