YĪN YĪN are a Dutch quartet from Maastricht who have gained international recognition for their unique blend of disco, funk, psychedelia and Southeast Asian influences. From the very beginning, the band shaped their identity through an experimental jam session in a village ballet school, which led to their debut album The Rabbit That Hunts Tigers, followed by The Age of Aquarius and Mount Matsu. With Kees Berkers (drums), Remy Scheren (bass), Erik Bandt (guitar) and Jerôme Scheren (keyboards), the group crafts hypnotic grooves and arrangements that evoke everything from 1960s Japanese spy movie themes to reinvented Thai disco. Their sound balances retro references with a contemporary freshness, creating atmospheres that both ignite the dance floor and transport listeners into more ethereal soundscapes. Above all, YĪN YĪN are explorers of global rhythms, turning every performance into a multicultural journey filled with energy and imagination.
