Mr. Gallini: Já Ninguém Vai Mudar o Mundo - CD

The world is burning and Mr. Gallini is on fire. His new solo album is filled with anthems for the hottest summer of our lives. With songs that are short but efficient, Bruno Monteiro sings in Portuguese for the first time, further expanding his kaleidoscopic sound.

Born in Pisões (Alcobaça, Portugal), Bruno Monteiro started out as Stone Dead's drummer and ventured solo with a trilogy of albums that showcase his diverse musical approach. The acoustic psychedelic pop of Lovely Demos (2018), which he recorded in his room, was followed by the surrealist electronics of The Organist (2019), based around keyboards and drawing inspiration from 8-bit to krautrock.

The new album Já Ninguém Vai Mudar o Mundo (No One Will Change the World) is more muscular and was created with more people. Tracks like Fogo no Cu and Primavera are powerful beasts with a punk edge and rock'n'roll swing, echoing the best instincts of songwriting. The album also shines with acoustic strings, pastoral folk, wind instruments, sonic mosaics and the precious Brazilian breeze of Pano Verde, painted with beauty and transatlantic heat.

Bruno Monteiro dives into life's dilemmas, transforming fears and anxieties into melodies for alienated souls. From the thrill of electricity to a warmer coziness, the record is richer in textures and instruments, reflecting a growing talent with each new release. Mr. Gallini may not aim to change the world, but he's already made it a better place with these songs.
