The new project from ZA! is born at the intersection of three distinct universes. At one vertex, the polyrhythmic music of a band that has already achieved cult status in the underground scene; at another, the a cappella trans-folk duo Tarta Relena; and at the third, the quartet La Mega Cobla, which has been using its traditional instruments in unusual and contemporary contexts. United by a desire to create their own vision of Mediterranean music, filtered through distortion and psychedelia, ZA! & TransMegaCobla offer a retro-futuristic take on folk music, reclaiming the vibrancy of the Mediterranean coasts and their endless possibilities for experimentation.

From bulería to kopanitsa, from gnawa to sardana, TransMegaCobla fuses the diverse heritages that connect the cultures of this region, creating a universe rich in humanity and celebration. Drawing on the Phoenician language, the octet searches for shared roots to reconfigure them according to contemporary forms. An timeless orchestra, ready to invent a science-fiction Mediterranean in a parallel reality.
